This painting was in largely original condition.
Treatment:
1. face with tissue
2. remove from strainer and flatten tacking edges
3. line with polyester linen (which also consolidates the ground and
paint layers)
4. attach to aluminum and wood stretcher
5. remove tissue facing
6. apply release layer of varnish before in-painting
7. retouch (in-paint) as required
8. revarnish using museum preferred non-yellowing synthetic formula
