This large painting had been mounted on aluminum in a misguided previous conservation effort. After careful study, we decided that removing it from the support would constitute an unnecessary hazard as the painting’s canvas support was stable, and if, in the future, the aluminum seperates from the canvas, they will be seperated at that time.
Other than that, conservation proceeded in standard format.
